How do you make your stencils?
How do you separate each layer?
How do you use Photoshop to make each layer?
How do you use Illustrator to make your stencils?
How do you spray so you don't get overspray?
I don't know how to use Photoshop. Will you do the separations for me and I can cut it out myself?

-I get each of these questions, or variations of these questions, every single week. I am happy to conversate with people about my work. I am happy to mentor people that I take an interest in. I am happy to help friends out with problems on how to get things done, but the one thing that annoys me more than anything else is when people email me with a one line email that says "how do you...".

So here is the way to get an answer from me. First, do not email me asking a question and expect me to answer if I have no fucking idea of who you are. Introduce yourself, let me know about yourself a little bit. I am not an encylopedia that spits out knowledge just because you get a bug in your ass to ask a question. Second, if I don't answer you, it's nothing personal. It could be because you are a rude fuck who doesn't deserve an answer or it could simply be that I am swamped with work and I don't have the time to properly respond. I am busy these days trying to stay ahead of the mountain of work that I have, so please understand.

For the record, here is how I gained my knowledge - I worked. I worked every day, every week, every year. I tried different things until I found the one that worked. There is no shortcut in making good stencils. What worked for me may not work for you, so just keep at it til you find a way to get your hands to do what your mind sees. Nothing I say will speed up this process for you.

Do you take commissions?
-Depends. Email me with your idea, request, or thoughts and we can take it from there. If you have an interest in commissioning me to produce a piece of art for you, let me know what you are thinking. If it is something that I can get behind, we can talk about price. If you email me asking me to do something that is not in the vein of my work I probably won't be into it. So, just to recap, if you want me to do a streetscene of your city, your favorite subway line, a crowd shot of the city, then color me yes. If you want me to do a stencil of a unicorn roller skating in dayglo colors, I am probably not your man.

Where do you get your inspiration for your work?
-Friends, Family, Travel

Will you do a trade with me?
-Although I appreciate the fact that people like my work, unfortunately I get a large number of requests to do a swap for artwork. Unless I know you personally, I doubt that I will be able to do an art for art trade.

Hope long have you been doing stencils?
-I made my first stencil in 1999. Before that though, I had been a screenprinter. If you consider screenprinting a form of stenciling, I have been at it since I was 16 years old.

What paint do you use?
-I prefer to use Sabotaz 80 Spraypaint from Greece or Rustoleum Metallic paints

What do you cut your stencils out of?
-Depends. Normally I use Oilboard, but I have used regular paper in the past.

Does paper last?
-You can get about 20 good sprays out of paper stencils as long as you let the paint dry in between sprays. Nowadays, I only do about 2 sprays from any stencil I cut, so there is no need to use anything thicker.

Do you put your work on the street?
-I used to do street work, but I haven't done so in years. I don't really consider myself a street artist, although it is likely that I will do work on the street again sometime.

How much does your work cost?
-If you are wanting to buy a piece, hit me up and we can talk about it.

How did you start doing stencils?
-Check my bio for the full story.

Where do you live?
-Brooklyn, but I have lived in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Baltimore in the past.

How do you get gallery representation?
-Ask them.

Can you hook me up with work/shows?
-If I know you, I have probably already hooked you up. If I don't know you, it's rude to hit me up and ask me to put money in your pocket with nothing in return.

How do I get down with The Straight Shooters?
-Wait for me to ask you.
